Weight Watchers Week 1


So today I attended my first Weight Watchers meeting in a long long time.  I stopped attending for two reasons: no car, and low funds. However, at work there is an incentive to attend for free as part of our health care.  I still don't have a vehicle but am borrowing one to make my meetings.  I know this program works especially because it gives me accountability.

I decided to attend Friday morning at 7am since for the summer I am doing Yoga at 7am Monday through Thursday.  My leaders name is Debbie.  I would like to visit other meeting times to scope out different leaders. 

My experience was not that great this first go around. I forgot my glasses so I had to wear my sunglasses to see and read.  I didn't get a new person orientation so I kind of just thumbed through the paperwork that was given to me.  I downloaded the app to my phone to start tracking since I was not sure what my point range was.  The chairs were set up in a way facing away from the speaker so sitting was awkward.  There were much older women there than myself.  This could be because we do a lot of online free support.  I have been following the Tone It Up meal plan since the beginning of the year and have lost 12 pounds.  I know I could have lost more but I haven't been very active.
So in regards to the meetings.  I am not sure if they are supposed to be confidential but anyway.... it left a bad taste in my mouth.  The reason was because they started to talk about how fruit is zero points so they have been indulging in the summer varieties.  However, they started blaming fruit for their weight gain.
