Weight Watchers Week 1

So today I attended my first Weight Watchers meeting in a long long time.  I stopped attending for two reasons: no car, and low funds. However, at work there is an incentive to attend for free as part of our health care.  I still don't have a vehicle but am borrowing one to make my meetings.  I know this program works especially because it gives me accountability.

I decided to attend Friday morning at 7am since for the summer I am doing Yoga at 7am Monday through Thursday.  My leaders name is Debbie.  I would like to visit other meeting times to scope out different leaders.

My experience was not that great this first go around. I forgot my glasses so I had to wear my sunglasses to see and read.  I didn't get a new person orientation so I kind of just thumbed through the paperwork that was given to me.  I downloaded the app to my phone to start tracking since I was not sure what my point range was.  The chairs were set up in a way facing away from the speaker so sitting was awkward.  There were much older women there than myself.  This could be because we do a lot of online free support.  I have been following the Tone It Up meal plan since the beginning of the year and have lost 12 pounds.  I know I could have lost more but I haven't been very active.
So in regards to the meetings.  I am not sure if they are supposed to be confidential but anyway.... it left a bad taste in my mouth.  The reason was because they started to talk about how fruit is zero points so they have been indulging in the summer varieties.  However, they started blaming fruit for their weight gain.

GW: 163.8 (for the 16 weeks)
UGW: 150

It has been over a year since I last written a blog post.  I have been nominated to create a blog for work.  I have heard I write well however, I think they mean my handwriting.  Stringing together words to create sentences has never been my forte.  I write like I think and sometime I forget word but the ideas are there.  I could attempt to revive my personal blog as well to discuss what's on my needles, what workout I am attempting, and what planner has caught my fancy.  However, I have been sucked into the allure of social media postings.  Quick simple posts on Insta or Snapchat are my method of sharing my life now a days.  We shall see where this all leads.

Knitting Bug Bite Me

I have not knit since I snagged my Lily of the Valley Shawl.  I think it made me depressed to see all that hard work to go down the drain.  I will have to attempt another shawl with a bit sturdier yarn. But for now I have decided to cast on for a sweater.  I am going to make the Carter sweater by Drops Design. I switched for this and the Cobblestone by Jared Flood.  I think Cobblestone will have to wait since I would love to knit it with a gray ....grey ...slate colored yarn.

Here is my swatch of the Carter sweater.

It is going to look great on me. :-D  I think the brown undertone will compliment my skin.

Where you are in your life vs. where you thought you would be at this point

I am here.  I guess I have done pretty well for myself.  I still rely on my family a lot because I am …. how do you say floja…lazy.

When I was younger I thought I would be married, have a million kids, and no career to call my own.  The perfect 50’s ideal.

Now I just want to keep moving forward.  What is the plan?  Learn more and possibly move where I can challenge myself and my career.

Sound off on the quote “Every woman has the exact love life she wants”

I think it is true.  If you are not happy with your love life you have the power to change that.  Change your mannerisms, be more open or closed off, learn something new for yourself, and meet new people.  I admit I am a bit stand offish but I can play nice.  However commitment scares me so ha.
